Christina's Eulogy

Christina Soteriou 29 October 1935 – 13 January 2012   In Celebration of a Life   Our dearest Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Sister-in-Law & Auntie   Knowing mum, she would want to thank everyone for the loving care she was given in her last days on earth – especially from her devoted husband George. She loved you so much and she was so proud of you dear dad.   You lived a fulfilling life and with your loving husband George worked tirelessly together since 1956 to raise four children Xenia, Christalla, Dina and Michael - even moving to Zimbabwe and back to London again.   Always in motion, Christina was passionate, selfless & strong. As children, from before we were up to after we went to bed, Mum never stopped and was always busy. Raising four children whilst running a business – you were tireless and truly amazing.   Everyone will know, we were blessed with your homely qualities and we cherished all your carefully prepared and unforgettable Greek delicacies, the quality of which - will never be matched again.   Your passion for the arts, music, justice, sport & especially travel was unrelenting - only slowing down in recent times once this dreaded disease had got hold of you.   Mum’s total faith in God is something truly inspirational and throughout the latter stages of her illness, I know she took great comfort from the support and the visits of our local priests and ministers.   While Mum is not here in the flesh, she is definitely here in spirit. She will always be in our hearts. And the fact so many of you came today to say goodbye, shows how much she is respected, loved & remembered.   So we thank you dearest Wife and Mother, for being there and for being our rock and steering the Soteriou ship through life’s stormy waters.   No matter how hard death tries it can't separate people from love. It can't take away our memories either. Life is stronger than death.   We know you will be looking over us and ALWAYS guiding us.   It will no longer be the same, rest in peace in your new home, as our loss will be their gain.   With love Your Dearest Family
